One method for making incense
100% fragrance oil is too strong for the incense, and will make very smokey incense! You must blend it with another oil. This is called a cutting oil such as Jojoba or Grapeseed. Use incense cutting oil to mix with your fragrance oils at 2 parts blending oil to 1 part fragrance oil. Just shake in a bottle or stir well. Do not use alcohol in place of blending oil.
There are 3 ways to saturate your incense sticks.
After saturating your incense allow them to dry for at least 48 hours. You may want to suspend the incense sticks over a jar to catch the fragrance drippings into a container for use again. They will be ready to burn after drying for 2 days. You can use a fan to speed up the drying process, or lay the sticks in the sun. Do not place incense sticks in an oven.
